I want to overhaul the design of this site so it's a bit more unique! Also I'm using a lot of prebuilt html/css layouts, like ribo.zone's.
Inspo:
I want to go to the desert to write on Country, and visit the landscape that will be inspiring one of my projects. I was talking to my friend recently (also a writer) about how I might not actually go to the desert, but the point, she said, was to go to the desert i.e. commit fully to the project, even if it's out of the budget to actually physically go to the desert. I guess the point is just that I want to commit 1000% to this.
"Tyler's Inferno" is a short show about a descent into a hellish party. The worst guy you know is there (he wears a North Face vest and his name is Tom), the pink pilates princess is there (and she HATES you) and the dealer might be a wizard. Why are you even going!? Oh right, to create meaningful connections. Good luck with that.

itch.io instagramOr, Wombat Season.
"From April to [July], when morning mists cover the land, nights become longer, and wombats emerge from their burrows it comes into Waring Season. Migrating birds arrive from Tasmania and male bulen-bulen, lyrebirds, begin to display their mounds, their spectacular tail feathers, and their songs to attract a mate. As the solstice approaches, Scorpius, at the heart of which is the reddish star Antares, Balayang (Djuit in Boorong naming), rises at sunset. ‘Two seasonal indicators become tied in together – our closest star [the Sun] and the distant stars [like Antares],’ says Duane."

I used to be a huge Neil Gaiman fan, though less so in recent years and obviously now not at all because of his abuse, and I feel like it's scratching a similar itch. Can't remember who it was, but I read an article about how the mythic potential of stories is lessened when every question of the universe is answered, and I feel like Kingfisher and Gaiman similarly create that mythic potential.
Tomie - Junji Ito. Idk how I feel about it. I get that the point is that she is repeatedly victimised, a victim of misogynistic murder again and again, but also like, no one acknowledges that there's a certain way that this murder is shown and her body is displayed. It's giving male gaze. I liked Uzumaki and the Enigma of the Amigara Fault a lot more, though I think they share some of the problems.
Blue Prince - Dogubomb. Literally chef's kiss masterpiece. I get too addicted to puzzle games though. I play for like 4 hours straight and then feel ill after.
Watching Worm Girl play Look Outside on Youtube
On a Worm Girl roll at the moment. Listening to her 6hr and 36min Signalis video essay which is excellent. Need to make a Signalis shrine on here :)
